Health and Safety

Health and safety measures at ARS

ARS is well placed, in terms of its size and nature, to take especially good care of our young students.

Small Class Sizes ~ Narrow Age Range

We have a maximum of 10 students per grade from Junior-Kindergarten through 5th so we will have adequate physical distancing in the classrooms and in the hallways. Students will remain with their homeroom teachers and classmates for most of the day and we will take every advantage of having Central Park right at our doorstep to spend lots of time outdoors in the sunshine.

Staggered Drop-Off and Pick-Ups

We will have staggered drop off each morning beginning at 8AM and pick-up between 2:30PM and 3PM so students can enter and exit the building a few at a time.

Hygiene!

Visitors often remark upon how diligently each one of our students sanitizes their hands as they enter the building and we’ll be able to build upon those good hygiene habits to limit the transmission of infection.

Most importantly

With a full time nurse and a consulting psychologist on staff we will be able to care for students’ mental as well as physical health. And, with our low student to teacher ratio we will have everyone right back up to our high academic standards in no time at all. While we appreciate that this new normal is going to be a change for all our students and teachers, we are thankful that our little gem of a school will be able to adapt itself so readily to take the best possible care of our students.
